About Magical Works Production

What is Magical Works Production?

Magical Works Production is a film and video production company based in Ostrava, Czech Republic. We work across film production, writing and co-directing, post-production, colour grading, sound design and branded content, and we build Magical Works Production.ai, an AI storyboarding tool for filmmakers.

Where are you based?

Our office is at Impact Hub Ostrava, Sokolská třída 1263/24, 702 00 Ostrava, Czech Republic. We work across the Czech Republic and internationally.

Which languages do you work in?

English and Czech. This website, our articles and our replies to enquiries are available in both languages.

What films have you made?

Our short film The Conqueror was an official selection at the Dreamscape International Film Festival in Houston, Texas, where it was nominated for Best International Short Film. The English version of our short film was screened at the Expats and Locals event at the Vítkovice Museum's Futureum in Ostrava. In development: a live-action comedy inspired by the Czech classic Pelíšky, and a music video partially based on AI.

Services and working with us

What services do you offer?

Writing and co-directing, editing, stunt design, original music composition, story-driven advertising campaigns, colour grading, sound design, AI-assisted filmmaking, and branded and corporate video. Film distribution is coming soon.

Do you work with other filmmakers and studios?

Yes. Alongside our own films, we collaborate with filmmakers and studios, from editing and colour grading to co-directing challenging scenes, and we offer that creative support without compromising on quality.

How much does a corporate video cost?

In our 2026 breakdown, a professionally produced corporate video typically costs $4,500 to $20,000 for a complete project, or $1,000 to $10,000 per finished minute. In Central Europe the same brief usually lands 30 to 50 percent below North American and Western European quotes. Send us your brief and we will reply with a line-item quote.

Filming in Ostrava and the Czech Republic

Is there a film incentive in the Czech Republic?

Yes. As of 2026 the Czech Republic offers a 25% cash rebate on eligible Czech spend for live-action projects, 35% for animation and digital production, and a 66% rebate on withholding tax paid in the country, with a cap of CZK 450 million (about €18 million) per project. The Czech Audiovisual Fund pays the rebate in cash after the costs are audited. Confirm the current terms with the fund before filing.

Do I need a Czech partner to claim the rebate?

Yes. The applicant must be a Czech tax resident with a place of business in the country, so international producers claim the incentive through a local production service partner. We support producers end to end: checking the cultural test and minimum spend, building Czech-side budgets and schedules, and managing production on the ground.

Why film in Ostrava?

Within about half an hour, Ostrava offers the post-industrial landmarks of Dolní Vítkovice, the protected 1950s socialist-realist district of Poruba, a historic city centre and the Moravian-Silesian Beskids mountains. The region also runs a Film Voucher programme for productions filmed there, open until 31 December 2026 or until the funds run out.

Why Ostrava is Central Europe's most underrated filming location

Can you help with locations and permits in the region?

Yes. We know the locations, the permitting landscape, the regional funding routes and the local crews. We can help you evaluate locations, estimate regional costs and structure a production that makes the most of the Moravian-Silesian film vouchers and the Czech cash rebate.

AI in our filmmaking

Do you use AI in your productions?

Yes, as the assistant, not the artist. We use AI where it removes grind: transcription and selects, object tracking and noise isolation in DaVinci Resolve, versioning and localisation. We do not use it to replace the parts that decide whether a film works: the brief, the story, the performance and the edit rhythm.

Our AI-assisted filmmaking workflow

Will AI replace filmmakers?

No. AI will not replace filmmakers, but it is already changing the craft. We build AI-enhanced films ourselves, so we say this from inside the work, not from the sidelines.

What is Magical Works Production.ai?

It is the AI storyboarding tool we build. You describe a scene in plain language and it generates cinematic storyboard frames with consistent characters, directed camera angles and lighting, then exports shot lists and PDF boards. There is a free plan, and paid plans start at $30 a month.
